The scientifically proven most effective treatment for a heart attack is to have a procedure to place a stent to reopen the blocked artery within 2 hours of the symptoms. However only a very few hospitals in Trinidad and Tobago can perform this service on an emergency basis so you do need to know beforehand where to go to get this treatment. Be Heart Smart!
